The Time Crime
Chapter 1: The Time Traveler
Sarah was a young girl who loved science more than anything else. She spent her days reading books, tinkering with machines, and dreaming of the future. One day, she invented something incredible - a time machine that could transport her to any era in history. She stared at her creation in amazement and whispered, “I’m going to be the first person to travel through time!”
With a grin on her face, Sarah stepped inside the machine and set the dial to ancient Egypt. She had always been fascinated by the pharaohs, the Nile River, and the pyramids. As the machine whirred to life, Sarah felt her excitement build up inside her.
Suddenly, she was surrounded by the scorching desert heat, palm trees, and sand dunes. She looked around and giggled with glee - she had finally made her dream come true. She was a time traveler!
As she strolled around the ancient kingdom, she stumbled upon a curious-looking artifact, a shiny metal object that glinted in the sun. Sarah picked it up and examined it carefully. “This must be something important,” she murmured to herself. “I better take it back with me.”
And so, she climbed back into her time machine, gripping the artifact tightly. She set the dial back to the present day and hit the big red button.
But as the machine whirred back to life, Sarah felt something odd. It was as if her body was being turned inside out. She saw strange colors, lights, and patterns all around her. She tried to scream, but no sound came out.
Finally, Sarah came to a halt with a thud. She looked around, expecting to find herself back in her lab, but she was somewhere else entirely. She was in an unfamiliar room, with white walls, blinking screens, and tubes attached to her arms.
“What the–?” Sarah yelled, but her voice was hoarse and weak. She looked down at her hands and gasped. They were wrinkled, pale, and bony. She had turned into an old woman!
Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and in stepped a young man. He had spiky brown hair, thick glasses, and a mischievous grin on his face. “Well, well, well,” he said, “if it isn’t Sarah the time traveler! Or should I say Sarah the time traveler who went a little too far?”
Sarah felt a rush of anger. Who was this guy to make fun of her? “What happened to me?” she demanded, her voice cracking.
“You accidentally brought back an object from the future,” the guy explained, holding up the artifact she had found. “And this object messed up your time travel. You ended up in the year 2110, instead of 2021. And as a side effect, you got aged about 70 years. Congratulations, grandma!”
Sarah gritted her teeth, but she knew that he was right. She had to find a way to return to her own time and undo the damage she had done. “Who are you?” she asked, trying to sound calm.
The guy held out his hand. “Name’s Ben. I’m a computer geek. And I think I might be able to help you get back to where you belong. But first, we need to figure out what this thingamajig is and how it works.” –
CHAPTER 2: A Strange Discovery
Sarah stared at the strange artifact, her mind racing. She knew it wasn’t from ancient Egypt, as it was not made of any materials she had ever seen before. In fact, it was like nothing she had ever encountered in her life as a scientist. It almost looked like a silver oval-shaped box with a series of glowing hieroglyphics etched around its edges. She frowned and furrowed her brow in concentration.
Ben, Sarah’s best friend and a tech wizard, was staring at the artifact too.
“Wow, this is cool,” he muttered after a moment of silence.
Sarah looked at him skeptically. “Cool? This thing seems to be from the future, Ben. How on earth did it end up in ancient Egypt?”
Ben grinned. “That’s precisely what we need to find out. But first, let’s see if we can turn it on.”
Sarah sighed in exasperation. “Do you really think that’s the best idea?”
“What are we going to do, Sarah? We can’t just stare at it. We’ve got to try to figure out how it works.”
Sarah nodded slowly, reluctantly agreeing with him. She knew Ben was right. If they wanted to solve the mystery of the artifact, they needed to see what it did.
They both leaned in close and fiddled with the glowing panel on the front of the artifact. After a few minutes of trial and error, Ben hit the right button, and the artifact made a low whirring sound.
The next moment, Sarah and Ben felt a strange sensation all around them, as if they were being pulled by an invisible force. They looked around frantically, only to realize that everything was fading away, as if they were traveling in time itself.
Suddenly, Sarah and Ben were standing in the middle of a futuristic city, amidst towering buildings made of glass and steel. The scene before them was so overwhelming that they were momentarily speechless.
“Whoa, what on earth have we done?” Ben finally managed to gasp.
Sarah glared at him. “I don’t know, Ben, but I think we’re definitely not in ancient Egypt anymore.”
Suddenly, they heard a loud, blaring alarm. It was the sound of danger, and it made their hearts race.
“What’s that?” Ben yelled.
“I think it’s time we find out,” Sarah replied, as they began to run towards the noise.
As they rounded the corner, their eyes widened with shock. Before them was a group of people, dressed all in black and wearing masks. They were carrying weapons and running towards them, shouting and screaming.
Sarah and Ben stopped in their tracks.
“What do we do now, Sarah?” Ben said fearfully.
Sarah took a deep breath and looked around her surroundings. She quickly spotted a tall building and gestured to Ben.
“Up there, quick!” she yelled.
They sprinted and climbed the stairs, arriving at the rooftop only moments before the people chasing them had arrived.
Sarah quickly formulated a plan. “Okay, Ben, we need to get to the bottom of this, and fast. I’ve got a feeling that this artifact has caused a lot of trouble in this world, and we need to find out how to put things right.”
Ben nodded, feeling more confident now that Sarah had taken charge.
“To the future, then,” he said confidently.
Together, they raced to confront their enemies. As they did, Sarah’s mind was full of questions about this new world and the dangers it held. She knew that they had a mission that they couldn’t fail.
But right now, all they could focus on was survival. –
Chapter 3: The Future World
Sarah and Ben found themselves in a strange new world. The sky was an eerie shade of purple, and the buildings towered over them like giants. Everywhere they looked, they saw strange new gadgets and gizmos that they could only imagine in their wildest dreams.
“Woah, this is crazy!” exclaimed Sarah.
“I can’t believe it!” replied Ben, his eyes wide in wonder. “We are really in the future!”
As the two marveled at the incredible world around them, a voice suddenly boomed over a loudspeaker.
“Intruders detected. Please proceed to the nearest security checkpoint.”
Sarah and Ben looked at each other, suddenly realizing why they were here.
“We have to find that weapon,” said Sarah.
“Right. But where do we start?” asked Ben.
Just then, a holographic map appeared in front of them, displaying the location of the facility.
“It looks like it’s a few blocks from here. Let’s go!” said Sarah.
As they made their way towards the facility, they couldn’t help but gawk at all the incredible technology they passed along the way. Cars flying in the air, robots walking around with people, buildings that could change shape at will.
“I don’t even know where to begin with this stuff,” muttered Ben.
“Me neither,” said Sarah with a smile. “But right now, we have a mission that we can’t fail.”
Suddenly, the ground beneath them started to shake. It felt like an earthquake, but the buildings around them remained as firm as ever.
“What in the world was that?!” cried Ben.
“I don’t know, but it felt close,” said Sarah, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.
Just then, a group of people appeared at the end of the street. They were dressed in black and had sinister looks on their faces.
“Uh oh,” said Sarah. “I have a feeling these guys aren’t friendly.”
“Neither do I,” replied Ben, his body tensed and ready for anything.
The group of people started running towards Sarah and Ben, moving with an unnatural speed. As they got closer, Sarah could see that they were holding some sort of weapons.
“Get down!” shouted Sarah, pushing Ben to the ground.
The group started firing their weapons, but Sarah and Ben managed to dodge the bullets. They quickly got back on their feet and started running in the opposite direction.
“Come on, we have to get to the facility!” cried Sarah.
The group pursued them, and it seemed like they were gaining. Just as Sarah and Ben were about to be caught, a group of authorities appeared from nowhere and surrounded the attackers.
“You two, this way,” said one of the authorities, directing them towards safety.
Once the coast was clear, Sarah and Ben resumed their mission to find the weapon. They finally reached the facility, but the doors were sealed shut.
“It’s no use, we’ll have to find another way in,” said Ben.
“Wait a minute, I have an idea,” said Sarah, remembering the artifact that had brought them to this world. “Maybe we can use this to open the doors.”
She held up the artifact, and its holographic screen displayed a code. Sarah used the code to unlock the doors, and they finally gained entry to the facility.
Once inside, Sarah and Ben sneaked around, avoiding the guards and security systems. Finally, they found the room where the weapon was being held.
“Okay, it’s time to get that weapon,” whispered Ben.
Suddenly, the doors of the room slammed shut, trapping them inside.
“That’s not good,” said Sarah.
A holographic screen appeared in front of them, displaying a message.
“Welcome, intruders. I have been expecting you,” said a voice emanating from the screen.
Sarah and Ben realized that they were in trouble. But little did they know, they were about to face the biggest threat of their mission. The voice belonged to none other than the mastermind behind the weapon’s heist, who had been tracking them from the start.
The villain appeared on the screen, grinning wickedly.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” he said, looking at Sarah and Ben with an evil gleam in his eye.
“Who are you?” asked Sarah, her voice quivering.
“You may call me The Collector,” replied the villain. “And I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
Sarah and Ben realized that they were in big trouble. But they also knew that they had to stay calm and think clearly if they were going to succeed in their mission.
“You’re not going to get away with this,” said Ben.
“Oh, but I already have,” replied The Collector. “You see, I have planned this heist for years. And with your help, I’ll finally be able to return home and rule the future.”
Sarah and Ben exchanged a worried look, knowing that they had to act fast if they were going to stop The Collector.
“Okay, we have to think of something fast,” said Sarah, the gears turning in her mind.
Just then, they noticed a loose panel on the wall next to the weapon’s compartment. They hurried over to it and pried it open, revealing a small control room. They quickly hacked into the control systems and disabled the weapon.
“Phew, that was close,” said Ben, wiping the sweat off his brow.
“Nice work,” said Sarah, patting him on the back. “But we’re not out of the woods yet.”
Suddenly, they heard a loud commotion outside the room. It sounded like the authorities were engaged in a final standoff with The Collector and his minions.
“We have to get out of here,” said Sarah, taking Ben’s hand.
They ran towards the exit, dodging the bullets and debris flying all around them. Just as they were about to make a run for it, The Collector blocked their way.
“Going somewhere?” he said with a sneer.
Sarah and Ben looked at each other, realizing that they had no choice but to face The Collector head-on.
The three engaged in a fierce battle, their weapons firing at each other in an intense showdown.
Finally, Sarah and Ben managed to outwit The Collector, disarming him and delivering him into the hands of the authorities.
The mission was a success. Sarah and Ben had saved the future from chaos and destruction.
As they made their way back to the present, they destroyed the weapon and made sure that nobody could ever use it again.
“Well, that was quite an adventure,” said Ben, his face beaming with pride.
“We did it,” replied Sarah, smiling. “But most importantly, we did it together.”
The two hugged, feeling the bond of friendship and trust that had grown between them during their journey.
As Sarah reflected on her incredible journey, she realized that sometimes the biggest adventures can come from the smallest of things. She couldn’t wait to see what the future held for her next.
The end. –
Chapter 4: The Final Showdown
“Sarah, where’s the weapon?” asked Ben, out of breath.
Sarah held up the small device shaped like a pen, “here it is. We need to make sure it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.”
Suddenly, they heard the sound of approaching footsteps. The duo peeked around the corner to see a group of rebels with weapons in hand.
“Quick, follow me!” urged Sarah, as she pulled Ben towards the nearest exit.
The rebels chased after them, shooting their weapons furiously. Sarah and Ben dove behind a pillar, taking cover.
“I knew we couldn’t go on a mission without getting into trouble,” exclaimed Ben.
“Stay low and don’t get hit,” instructed Sarah.
Suddenly, Sarah heard her name being called from behind. She turned around to see her future self dressed in an armored suit.
“Who are you?” asked Sarah, staring at her future self.
“I am you, Sarah from the future. You don’t have much time, follow me,” said Future Sarah.
Sarah and Ben followed Future Sarah to a safe location.
“The rebels want to use the weapon to overthrow the government, we can’t let that happen,” said Future Sarah.
“We’re ready to stop them,” replied Sarah, determined.
As they talked, they heard the rebels approaching. This was their final stand.
Sarah and Ben fought with all their might, dodging and firing their weapons. They managed to gain ground and pushed the rebels back until they reached the mainframe.
“These rebels were not trying to overthrow the government, they just wanted to destroy it,” exclaimed Future Sarah.
Sarah and Ben realized the extent of what was going on and fought even harder.
Finally, after a long battle, they emerged victorious. They managed to retrieve the weapon and destroyed it.
“Mission accomplished,” declared Sarah with a sigh of relief.
“Future Sarah, I have so many questions for you,” said Sarah excitedly.
“I know, but your journey is not complete yet. You will see me again soon,” replied Future Sarah as she vanished.
Sarah and Ben made their way back to the present. They made sure the weapon was destroyed and that nobody could ever use it again.
“Sarah, we did it,” exclaimed Ben.
“Yes, we did it,” said Sarah happily. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
The duo high-fived each other before heading back to Sarah’s lab.
“Thanks for helping me, Ben,” said Sarah, grateful.
“Anytime, Sarah. We make a pretty good team,” replied Ben.
Sarah smiled, happy to have a friend like Ben. She couldn’t wait for their next adventure. –
